Kanahooka Seniors Living Community

Project Summary:

Menai Civil was engaged by Illawarra Retirement Trust to deliver all five stages of a major seniors living community development, providing the civil infrastructure required to support more than 42 buildings comprising 95 attached and semi-detached dwellings, apartments and a community clubhouse.

The staged works included subdivision, road construction, stormwater, utility services and private infrastructure, with early access roads and services delivered to support 100 apartments, followed by the subdivision and servicing of 25 residential lots. A key component of the project was the construction of a new sewer pump station, providing reliable long-term servicing for the growing development.

Scope of Works:

Approximately 26,000 m³ of bulk earthworks.
Construction of approximately 4,900 m² of roads and flexible pavements.
Installation of approximately 1,500 m of stormwater drainage.
Construction of approximately 570 m² of retaining walls.
Installation of sewer and water infrastructure, including a new sewer pump station.
Electrical, communications and fire hydrant service reticulation.
Subdivision and civil infrastructure works for 25 residential lots.
Delivery of supporting infrastructure for future residential buildings, apartments and community facilities.
