Tower Road, Bankstown Airport Infrastructure Works
Project Summary:
Menai Civil was engaged to deliver the Tower Road – Bankstown Airport Works for Aeria Management Group, providing a comprehensive upgrade of road, civil, electrical and landscape infrastructure within the Bankstown Airport precinct. Delivered within a live operational airport environment, the project involved full road reconstruction, drainage upgrades, underground electrical services, and streetscape improvements to enhance access, safety, and operational efficiency across the precinct. Careful staging, night works, and close coordination with airport stakeholders and utility providers enabled the works to be completed while maintaining ongoing airport operations. The completed upgrade provides improved transport infrastructure, enhanced visual amenity, and supports the continued growth of aviation and industrial activities within the precinct.
Scope of Works:
Night works for full road reconstruction to minimise disruption, including heavy duty pavement installation, road widening, turning circle upgrades, and compliant line marking and signage.
Drainage system upgrades with new pits, culverts, and flow-control structures to enhance capacity and reduce localised flooding.
Installation of 2 km of underground conduits and commissioning of energy-efficient LED street lighting.
Relocation and protection of essential services (water, sewer, electrical, communications) in coordination with utility authorities.
Soft landscaping, streetscape enhancements, and erosion control using sustainable, drought-tolerant planting.
Upgraded fencing and access infrastructure in full compliance with CASA airside safety requirements.
Staged construction with temporary traffic control, and installation of permanent signage and lighting for improved safety.
Dust, noise, and sediment control using best practices; ongoing communication with stakeholders and airport tenants.
